Spending our three years at Hunter Valley, was a challenge on finding a place to dine as most restaurants did not operate during the early weekday.
Decided to go to Infuzions which is located inside our hotel, at The Sebel. There is a set menu for dinner.
The entrees had nothing to fault. I am a fan of deepfried zucchini flower, so that was a must along with crisp quail. We were already familiar with the cheese name "Hunterbelle" after venturing for a cheese tasting. The lady that offered us the tasting said that Hunterbelle was owned by Mr and Mrs Cheese from MKR and let me tell you that their cheese is damn deliciously full of goodness. The restaurant does offer quite a few dishes using Hunterbelle cheese on their menu. The chefs cut was nice and tender, but the chicken breast could have done with more sauce as it was more to the dry side, as expected from chicken breast. Unsure of what crepinette was, thinking it was a type of sausage, but realised it is the way that it is cooked.
Running out of time, we had to cut dinner short and miss dessert to make it to our Thai Massage. The restaurant was nice enough to offer room service for dessert, but by this time we were feeling full.
Courgette Flowers- Hunterbelle marinated feta, mushroom duxcelle & petite salad.
Crisp Quail- celeriac and pomogrante salad, kumquat.
Kirkton Park Chefs Cut- heirloom carrots, pommes fondant, tomato and jus
Chicken Crepinette- Labna, potato gnocchi, asaragus, tomato and verjuice reduction.
Much love from J and C
